We have had a love affair with Italy from the start, so when a couple of friends asked us to show them “the real Italy” we were delighted to show them the place we have come to love so deeply. Although we took them to the popular stops in Rome, Florence, Venice and the Amalfi Coast that tour companies typically go, we were able to turn a typical cookie cutter tour experience into a more authentic one. We stayed in Italian villas stopping along the way to taste the specialties of each region, talked to the local artisans, watched them work and sometimes helped in the process. They were thrilled to experience Italy in such intimate way. As time went on, more friends and acquaintances began to stay with us. They told us that they had a wonderful experience, that they had traveled elsewhere and paid more and done less, and that the real Italian touches (my mother making home-made pasta for everyone) had made the experience unforgettable. We discovered that visitors wanted more than the typical tour, they wanted an experience enriched with what it was to truly be Italian. So in 2009, we made it official, and started Tierno Tours.
Why should you visit Italy with us?
This isn't your average tour. We are committed to sharing the same enriching experience we shared with our closest friends, with you and your family.
We have designed four different tours that highlight the best of Southern Italy. We invite you to be a part of the true Italian tradition as we visit local artisans, who for generation after generation have perfected their craft to produce wine, cheese, olive oil or other delicacies for us to enjoy. These visits are arranged by us and simply wouldn’t be found in an average tour.
Our escorted tours feature first class accommodations that we have personally chosen. We can assure you that when you arrive to Italy you will always stay in a unique location (like a charming villa or estate) emerged in Italian life, but with all the American comforts.
We will taste the regional cooking at local restaurants where tourists typically don’t go, and visit the best places to shop.
So, to answer your question- we want you to have a true Italian experience and become part of the Tierno Tours family.
Our passion for the "Good life" pushes us to go off the beaten track to find some of the best kept secrets of southern Italian life.
Quaint vineyards, cheese makers, local artisans , villas and estates, local restaurants (no English translations), best places for shopping and the list goes on and on.
All these special places that give you the feel of what it's like to be Italian!!
