Itinerary for 8 days, 7 nights

Day 1 – (Saturday)

Arrive at Rome Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (FCO) and board your private motor coach for the journey to Castelli, a medieval hill town that lies beneath Mount Camicia. Castelli is best known for its maiolicas, a form of decorative ceramics, which were collected by the nobility of Europe for centuries and are still produced today by local artists. Walking tour of the village and welcome meal at a local restaurant before we go to the Hotel Castello di Septe and settle in for the night. (B- On flight, welcome L, D)

Day 2 – (Sunday)

Spend the morning in Quadri, "the town of truffles," where we will have our first tasting of the day. Our next stop is Villa Santa Maria at one of the most renowned chef schools in the world, we will have lunch we one of its former students. After our meal as we head back to the castle, we'll make our last stop in Bomba to visit a local "museo" depicting every day country life for the last 200 hundred years. Back to the castle; relax for the evening. (B, L, D)

Day 3 - (Monday)

We are going to spend the morning in an olive orchard where they produce oil and olive products. After our tasting and tour, we will be going Lanciano, a small medieval town, where the Eucharistic miracle is said to have occurred. We will have a tour of the town and church. Free time for shopping before we head back to the castle for the night (B, L, D)

Day 4 – (Tuesday)

This morning we are heading to Scanno, a town known for its goldsmiths. After our walk through town we are headed up the mountain to see how cheese is made. After our tasting and lunch, we will make a stop in Sulmona, famous for Confetti, an almond candy. You'll stop at the factory to see and taste how this classic candy is made. Free time to shop before we head up to Bolognano, to the winery for a tasting, tour and light dinner. (B, L/D)

Day 5 – (Wednesday)

Today we are going to spend on the water, on a fishing dock, "Trabocco," where we are going to have a cooking demo and learn about this unique form of net fishing. Lunch is overlooking the water, all seafood from the nets! The perfect way to end our time in Abruzzo. (B, L/ D)

Day 6 – (Thursday)

Villa Tivoli was built in 1550; it is famous for the elaborate garden, statues, monuments and most of all, its fountains. We will have a tour and free time to explore. Then off to Rome where we will be spending our last 2 nights. (B, D)

Day 7 – (Friday)

We will start our day mid-morning, with a walk through Rome. Along the way, we will try some local Roman street food, then end our tour and you will have the rest of the night to yourselves. (B, L)

Day 8– (Saturday)

Transfer to FCO airport for flight back to USA (B)
