Day 1 - Saturday, September 16, 2023 
Arrive in Italy, check into our unique accommodation. Located in the medieval and enchanting village of Scheggino, in the province of Perugia. Our “albergo diffuso”, consisting of the central body of the hotel, with 12 rooms and 16 apartments sprinkled within the cobbled alleys of the hamlet. Meet Miyoko and your fellow travelers for cocktails and proceed to our welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Sunday, September 17, 2023 Sunday, Cooking lesson with Miyoko in Spoleto
This morning we'll start off cooking together in Spoleto. After our lesson we'll have free time to explore the town before rejoining to taste our creations for Lunch. After lunch we will make a quick stop for some gelato. Then back to our village.

Day 3 - Monday, September 18, 2023 Umbria's  Wine Country
This morning we are heading out early.  Today we are going to get serious about winemaking and tasting. We will learn the proper way and traditions of making, drinking and pairing wines. We will visit the two wineries and to wine villages with time to explore and get some history with our local guide.

Day 4 - Tuesday, September 19, 2023 Assisi
Today we are taking a full day in the home of spirituality, Assisi. We will have a walking tour though town then free time to explore on our own. Tonight we’ll have dinner together as a group.

Day 5 - Wednesday, September 20, 2023 Free day
Perfect day to relax and take advantage of the spa or one of the many tours provided by the hotel. Nature, relaxation and adrenaline. Forests, wide valleys, pristine waters: this is the Valnerina and this area is ideal for outdoor lovers in search of wild charming experiences.

Day 6 - Thursday, September 21, 2023 Civita di Bagnoregio and Orvieto
We are heading out this morning to visit the small impressive village of Civita di Bagnoregio. High up on the hill top we’ll take the walk up to the top. Next we will visit Orvieto. Experience Orvieto, folklore, traditions, craftsmanship and good food. Walking through the streets of the historic center you will still find craft shops of artistic ceramics and Irish lace, goldsmiths, and wood craftsmen. There are also numerous food and wine shops where you can find typical products such as the well-known Orvieto DOC wine, extra-virgin olive oil and other specialties.

Day 7 - Friday, September 22, 2023
Our last day is a day to come together with Miyoko and share in nature, cooking and dining together. Truffle hunt in the morning followed a short cooking demo and lunch. Live music and time together before heading back to our hotel.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours a day will we be walking or on a bus?
Every day we will be walking a minimum of 3 hours. There will also be uphill streets and stairs. The bus rides vary in time for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

I am traveling alone, will I be the only one?
No, on average we have about half the group that are singles.

Is there a single supplement? And why?
Yes, there is. It's $650 for a private room. The reason we have a single supplement is because some hotels do not offer a single rate. So as a single person you are paying a full rate of the room instead of it being divided by two.

How can I avoid paying the single supplement?
We can match guests with same-sex roommates. We will connect you by email and you can see if you are compatible to share a room. 

Is my deposit of $400 refundable?
No, we have limited space and need a commitment from each guest. Please note that the deposit of $400 per guest
is NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case that the trip does not meet the minimum number of participants.
The trip's go-status will be confirmed no later than 90 days before departure. This trip is now a GO.

Notice of cancellation must be in writing to Tierno Tours LLC. In the event that a client needs to cancel his or her tour, the following cancellation penalties apply whether or not a person is rebooked on another tour:
Within 89 days of departure – 100% of the booking is non refundable.

What deposits are due and when?
We require $400 per person deposit and final payment is due June 16, 2023, for balance of the tour.

Do I need Travel Insurance? Where can I purchase Insurance?
Each guest can decide base on there situation if they need travel insurance. We do highly recommend that you look into health insurance. Tierno Tours doesn't sell insurance but can provide you with an agent if needed.

How do I book my flights?
As soon as you leave your deposit we will send out a confirmation email with all necessary information. You can contact our agent or if you are booking your own airfare, departure dates and airports will be listed in the confirmation email.

Is my flight included?
No, This is a land package only.

If booking your own airfare:
Departure from USA or Canada no later than Friday, September 15, 2023. The tours ends on Saturday, September 23, 2023 after breakfast.
We recommend flying in and out of Rome international Airport(FCO)
​We will be organizing a group transfer from Rome International airport at 1:00pm. The transfer is 50euro per person and 2:30min.

​How do we pack?
We have a Zoom conference with the group before the trip to explain packing and general information; plus a packing list.

Is an upgrade possible?
Yes, in some of our accommodations upgrades are possible. Many times they are limited and we recommend that you contact us to reserve the room as soon as possible. You will be given a price and charged at the time of booking. All upgrades are non-refundable.

How do I get from the airport to the Hotel?
There are many transfer companies. We will help you book your transfer as soon as you purchase your airfare. 

What airport should you fly into?
We are recommending flying into Rome (FCO). But it is possible to fly into Florence airport.

How much is the cost of the Transfer?
A private transfer is about 185 Euro and the bus shuttle is 85 Euro per person with a minimum of 6 guests.
