Day 1 – (Saturday) Pompeii and Cilento
Arrive at Naples Capodichino International Airport (NAP) and board your private motorcoach for the journey south to the Cilento region and the Villa La Ginestra in Castel San Lorenzo. Along the way, we'll make a stop at the ancient city of Pompeii. Frozen in time by the nearby Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii is one of the few sites where an ancient city has been preserved in exact detail - everything from jars and tables to paintings and people were frozen in time over 1900 years ago. Enjoy a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site; free time for lunch and shopping. After checking into the villa, the remainder of the day is yours to relax, before rejoining your party for a Welcome Dinner.
Accommodations: Private Villa in Cilento
Meals: Dinner

Day 2 – (Sunday) The Best of Cilento
Step back in time and see how southern Italy REALLY lived. The day's first stop is the medieval castle of Roccadaspide. Over 800 years old, the castle is one of the best in the region and the castle's owner will personally take you on a tour. As it is Sunday, you'll enjoy a traditional six-course family dinner at a lovely agriturismo located in the beautiful countryside. The afternoon offers an opportunity to walk off your lunch at Roscigno Vecchia, an abandoned nineteenth-century village that is now an open-air museum. Afterward, return to the villa to rest and enjoy cocktails and snacks before an evening of live, local music.
Accommodations: Private Villa in Cilento
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3 – (Monday) Buffalo Mozzarella, Paestum and Pizza
For breakfast, you'll be stopping at the best Buffalo mozzarella factory for a cheese and yogurt tasting. After breakfast, journey to the Greek city of Paestum where you'll see what is described as one of the best-preserved collections of Greek temples in the world. We will have time to visit the site and the museum, before returning to the villa. We are going to make pizza in our own wood-burning brick oven at the villa. Everyone can participate.
Accommodations: Private Villa in Cilento
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Napolitano Pizza Dinner

Day 4 – (Tuesday) Beach day in Palinuro
We'll head west to the Cilento Coast, to the sea towns that hug the cliffs and their spectacular views. We will board a boat in Palinuro and ride down the coast. Stopping in the "blue grotto"  and the Beach of Arco Naturale, then the most famous Buondormire Beach, accessible only by sea. Free time to swim or enjoy a drink. Lastly, we will have a seafood feast on the beach overlooking the water.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours a day will we be walking or on a bus?
Every day we will be walking a minimum of 3 hours. There will also be uphill streets and stairs. The bus rides vary in time for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

I am traveling alone, will I be the only one?
No, on average we have about half the group that are singles.

Is there a single supplement? And why?
Yes, there is. It's $250 for a private room. The reason we have a single supplement is because some hotels do not offer a single rate. So as a single person you are paying a full rate of the room instead of it being divided by two.

How can I avoid paying the single supplement?
We can match guests with same-sex roommates. We will connect you by email and you can see if you are compatible to share a room.

Is my deposit of $400 refundable?
No, we have limited space and need a commitment from each guest. Please note that the deposit of $400 per guest
is NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case that the trip does not meet the minimum number of participants.

The trip's go-status will be confirmed no later than 90 days before departure.

How do I book my flights?
As soon as the group is formed we will be sending out a confirmation email with all necessary information. You can contact our agent or if you are booking your own airfare, departure dates and airports will be listed in the confirmation email.

How do we pack?
We have a Zoom conference with the group before the trip to explain packing and general information; plus a packing list.

Do I need Travel Insurance? Where can I purchase Insurance?
We highly recommend Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is based on many factors and the price varies from person to person. You can get a quote from our agent Carol Symington, csymington@AAASJ.COM . Please mention your tour, the dates, price and that it is Tierno Tours.
Is my flight included?
No, This is a land package only.

If booking your own airfare:
Departure from USA or Canada no later than 24 hours before the tour begins.

Is an upgrade possible?
Yes, in some of our accommodations upgrades are possible. Many times they are limited and we recommend that you contact us to reserve the room as soon as possible. You will be given a price and charged at the time of booking. All upgrades are non-refundable.

Where are we staying?
5 nights in Cilento Villa and 2 nights in Sorrento.

How do I get from the airport to the Hotel?
There are many transfer companies. We will help you book your transfer as soon as you purchase your airfare.

How much is the cost of the Transfer?
A private transfer is about 150 Euro and the bus shuttle is 45 Euro per person with a minimum of 6 guests.
