​PRE TRIP SANTORINI:  $1,899.- per person SAVE $125 for sharing room
Day 1 - Arrive in Santorini
Depending on what time you arrive you can check-in or drop off your bags at the hotel. You have free time to get acquainted with the area of Fira before we meet as a group for a Vegan Food and Wine Tasting Experience.

Day 2 - Lost Atlantis Experience and Akrotiri Archeological Site
After a delicious vegan breakfast we will explore the “Lost Atlantis Experience” The Greek philosopher Plato comes to life in an animated hologram. Converse with him and ask him about his philosophy and the theory that Santorini could be the origin of the Atlantis myth. Next we’ll head over to Akrotiri Archeological Site where we’ll have a guided tour. Now it’s time for lunch together as a group at the black beach. The night is free.

Day 3 -  Volcano, Hot Springs & Thirassia Day Cruise From Fira
This is a full day. Your first stop will be the legendary volcano of Santorini. A 20-minute boat ride away, lies the Nea Kameni jetty. Walk to the volcano’s ridge with your guide, who will tell you about the history and the geology of the site. Explore the volcanic island for 1.5 hours before hopping on the boat to your next stop, the island of Palea Kameni. Stop here for 30min at a distance of 30 meters from the shallow waters of Agios Nicholaos’ beach and enjoy the hot springs. Your last stop for the day is the island of Thirassia.
Stay here for 2 hours, explore this quaint little village, and treat your taste buds to authentic Santorinian cuisine.

Day 4 - Ferry to Crete together

Day 1: Arrival in Enchanted Crete
Welcome to Crete! Your journey begins as you arrive in the vibrant city of Heraklion, whether it's by ferry from Santorini Island or through a flight into Heraklion Airport (HER). Upon your arrival, you'll settle into the comfortable and centrally located Dimargio Hotel, a perfect base for your explorations. In the early evening, the group gathers for a delightful Welcome-in-Crete Dinner, offering an introduction to the island's rich culinary traditions.

Day 2: Discovering Heraklion City and Knossos Palace
The morning unfolds with leisurely exploration in the streets of Heraklion. In the late afternoon after our break at the beach we’ll explore the ancient history of Knossos Palace. Stand amidst the remnants of the grand Minoan civilization during a two-hour guided exploration that sheds light on Europe’s oldest city. As the sun sets, the group returns to the hotel to relax before dinner together in the city.

Day 3: Voyage to Elounda and Spinalonga Islet
The day's adventure leads you to the picturesque coastal village of Elounda, a serene escape surrounded by azure waters. Here, you board a boat destined for Spinalonga Islet, where history whispers through the preserved ruins of its leper colony and Venetian fortress. While back in Elounda, the afternoon is yours to wander, perhaps enjoying a leisurely lunch by the charming marina or soaking in the vibrant local culture. As dusk approaches, you'll return to your hotel by early evening, gathering for a memorable farewell dinner within the enchanting ambiance of the city.

Day 4: Rethymnon's Heritage and Scenic Drive
Departing Heraklion, you make your way along Crete's captivating Northern coast, destined for Chania City. The day begins with a two-hour guided exploration of Rethymnon’s majestic Venetian fortress, its ancient stones offering panoramic views of the town below. Leisurely wandering through the picturesque alleys of Old Town, you'll discover a lovely boutique restaurant where lunch awaits. As the day continues, your journey lands you in Chania, where you check into the charming Porto Veneziano Hotel. The evening is yours to explore or relax as you wish.

Day 5: Immersing in Chania's Timeless Allure
Your exploration of Chania unfolds with a captivating 90-minute guided tour through its scenic Old Town, centered around the historic Venetian Harbour. As the tour concludes, you're free to delve deeper into the town's breathtaking sights and niches at your own pace. Midday finds you indulging in lunch at a celebrated family-operated slow-food restaurant, renowned for its delightful vegan dishes. Your cultural journey continues at the Archaeological Museum, where you navigate its visual wonders at your leisure. Conclude the day with a relaxed dinner on your own, free to explore the local dining delights.

Day 6: Histories and Culinary Arts
Today's itinerary unfolds with an insightful visit to the German Military Cemetery in Maleme, where stories of valor and history intertwine. The journey then carries you to the idyllic sands of Falasarna Beach for a serene interlude. As the afternoon sun basks the land in golden light, you partake in a unique cooking class hosted at a traditional farm. Here, you discover the secrets of Cretan cuisine, crafting a delectable dinner with your own hands, creating memories that unite taste and tradition.

Day 7: Tranquil Mountainous Retreats and Tastes
Embark on a morning excursion to Saint Kyriaki Monastery, a serene religious enclave that reveals the spiritual heart of Crete. The narrative continues as you traverse Chania’s lush mountainous regions, pausing to drink in the charm of small villages and landmarks that narrate the island's storied past. An invigorating drive through the scenic Therisso Gorge brings you to Zourva, where a cup of mountain tea accompanied by a local snack awaits. The journey soon reaches the Botanical Garden, where a vegan lunch is savored amidst nature’s bounty. The day’s adventures conclude with a relaxing olive oil tasting, followed by a heartfelt Farewell Dinner at your hotel's restaurant.

Day 8: Departure from Crete
​As your journey wraps up, you check out from the Porto Veneziano Hotel. A convenient taxi transfer guides you to Chania Airport (CHQ).

Frequently asked questions
​

How many hours a day will we be walking or on a bus?
Every day we will be walking for a minimum of 3 hours. There will also be uphill streets and stairs. The bus rides vary in time of 20 minutes to 2 hours.

I am traveling alone, will I be the only one?
No, on average we have about half the group that are singles.

Is there a single supplement? And why?
Yes, there is. It's $550 for a private room. The reason we have a single supplement is because some hotels do not offer a single rate. So as a single person you are paying a full rate of the room instead of it being divided by two.

How can I avoid paying the single supplement?
We can match guests with same-sex roommates. We will connect you by email and you can see if you are compatible to share a room. 

Is my deposit of $400 refundable?
No, we have limited space and need a commitment from each guest. Please note that the deposit of $400 per guest
is NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case that the trip does not meet the minimum number of participants(2 guests).
The trip's go-status will be confirmed no later than 90 days before departure.

How do I book my flights?
As soon as the group is formed we will be sending out a confirmation email with all necessary information. You can contact our agent or if you are booking your own airfare, departure dates and airports will be listed in the confirmation email.

How do we pack?
We have a Zoom conference with the group before the trip to explain packing and general information, plus a packing list.

Do I need Travel Insurance? Where can I purchase Insurance?
We highly recommend Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is based on many factors and the price varies from person to person. You can get a quote from our agent Carol Symington, [email protected] . Please mention your tour, the dates, price and that it is Tierno Tours.

No, This is a land package only.​

Is an upgrade possible?
Yes, in some of our accommodations upgrades are possible. Many times they are limited and we recommend that you contact us to reserve the room as soon as possible. You will be given a price and charged at the time of booking. All upgrades are non-refundable.

How do I get from the airport to the Hotel?
for the main tour please book your flight to arrive at Heraklion International and Domestic Airport (HER). There are many international flights to Heraklion Airport, direct or via Athens. Airport transfers are included.
