Arrive in Mexico city, drop off our bags and explore the city. after yo have check- into our hotel and settle in we'll meet up with our host Chef Jason Wyrick to have dinner together.

Day 2 Friday, November 29 - Mexico City - Coyoacan area
Today we'll head over to Frida Kahlo Museum. But first we'll tour the "Mercado de Coyoacan" where we will have free time to explore the market and then meet for lunch together with Chef Jason to taste his favorite street foods. After we eat we'll take a quick walk over to Frida Kahlo childhood home and learn about this interesting story. The night on your own.

Day 1 Sunday, December 1 - Mexico city and Archeological zone of Puebla
Bright and early, we'll all leave Mexico City. Then, we'll head over to Puebla by bus. On our way there, we're going to stop and check out Cacaxtla-Xochitecatl Archeological zone and the Xochitecatl Archeological zone. After our guided tour, you'll all get some free time to look around the city and grab some lunch too. After that, we'll head to our Puebla hotel to settle in. In the evening, we'll come together for dinner in the old historic center of the city.

Day 2 Monday, December 2- Puebla
Today is our day to take advantage of this beautiful city. We'll have a guided tour of the historical area and free time to explore on your own. In the evening we'll have a mezcal tasting proceeding into dinner.

This intricate creation, traditionally toasted on a Comal and ground on a Metate, reflects centuries of history and the evolution of flavors, resulting in countless regional recipes unique to every corner of Mexico. We start at 10:00 am with a market tour, then continue learning from our host chef and end eating together what we made.

“Ruta Puuc” is a collection of five ancient Maya sites in the Yucatan. Including the impressive archeological site of Uxmal. In between ruin visits we will stop at the Chocolate museum, a good spot to learn about coco, bean to bar. We will have a few more stops before heading back to Merida.

About our Chef
Chef Jason believes that food is more than just what’s on your plate. It’s the story surrounding it that makes it fascinating, from the trucker that delivers the ingredients to the generations of cooks that change and adapt a dish through the years to the chemistry of heat and the interactions of ingredients to the diner that finds themselves at that point in time at that place eating that particular meal. It’s more than just food. It’s an act of compassion, an act of health, and an act of pleasure.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours a day will we be walking or on a bus?
Every day we will be walking a minimum of 3 hours. There will also be uphill streets and stairs. The bus rides vary in time for 20 minutes to 2 hours. I am traveling alone, will I be the only one? No, on average we have about half the group that are singles. Is there a single supplement? And why? Yes, there is. It's $350 for a private room. The reason we have a single supplement is because some hotels do not offer a single rate. So as a single person you are paying a full rate of the room instead of it being divided by two. How can I avoid paying the single supplement? We can match guests with same-sex roommates. We will connect you by email and you can see if you are compatible to share a room. Is my deposit of 400 refundable? No, we have limited space and need a commitment from each guest. Please note that the deposit of $400 per guest per trip, also all deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case that the trip does not meet the minimum number of participants. The trip's go-status will be confirmed no later than 90 days before departure August 28, 2024 How do I book my flights? As soon as the group is formed we will be sending out a confirmation email with all necessary information. You can contact our agent or if you are booking your own airfare, departure dates and airports will be listed in the confirmation email. How do we pack? We have a Zoom conference with the group before the trip to explain packing and general information, plus a packing list. Is my flight included? No, This is a land package only. |
Do I need Travel Insurance? Where can I purchase Insurance?
We highly recommend Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is based on many factors and the price varies from person to person. You can get a quote from our agent Carol Symington, [email protected] . There are many transfers companies. We will help you book your transfer as soon as you purchase your airfare. Taxis are very reasonable. How much is the cost of the Transfer?
