Day 1 - March 27 - Lisbon
Arrive in Lisbon, drop off your bags, and explore the vibrant capital of Portugal, an irresistible muse for artists seeking inspiration. From the intricate azulejo tiles adorning the city's buildings to the colorful street art that decorates its alleys, Lisbon's visual allure is undeniable. Day 2 - March 28 - Lisbon
After a satisfying breakfast, we'll embark on an exploration of the two fascinating districts where we'll be staying. First on our list is Alfama, a labyrinth of narrow alleys steeped in history and the heart of Fado music. Walt will accompany us, providing an insightful demo and guiding our first painting session. Next, we'll venture to Chiado, a district known for its elegant architecture, trendy boutiques, and iconic cafes. We will have our second painting session. We'll conclude this exhilarating day with a delightful dinner together, savoring local flavors and sharing our artistic adventures.

Day 3 - March 29 - Portimão and the Algarve Region
We’ll say goodbye to Lisbon and head south to Portimão.On our way we’ll stop in a small village for a morning painting session and lunch before checking into our new hotel. Portimão, located in the Algarve region of Portugal, is known for its mesmerizing rock formations that dot its coastline. The dramatic cliffs and sea caves crafted by nature create a breathtaking backdrop against the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Dinner together in town.

Day 4 - March 30- Portimão and the Algarve Region
Full workshop day right outside of our hotel. Praia de Boião is a secluded paradise nestled along the stunning coastline of Portimão. With its golden sands, turquoise waters, and rugged cliffs, this hidden gem offers tranquility and natural beauty, making it the perfect spot for a workshop day at the beach.

Day 5 - March 31- Portimão and the Algarve Region
Full workshop day right outside of our hotel. Praia dos Careanos is a captivating beach located near Portimão, Portugal. Renowned for its unique rock formations, towering cliffs, and pristine sandy shores. Today is Easter Sunday so we will be enjoying the holidays with the locals.

Day 6 - April 1- Portimão and the Algarve Region
Our last painting workshop session in Algarve at Praia do Vau, a true masterpiece in itself. With the golden sands, crashing waves, and stunning coastal views as our inspiration. We’ll have dinner together in the evening.

Today, we bid farewell to Portugal and set off for the enchanting region of Andalusia. Our first stop is Seville, where we'll immerse ourselves in a morning painting session. Afterward, you'll have some free time to explore the city and savor a delicious lunch at your leisure. Later, we'll continue our journey to Cordoba, where we'll meet the rest of our group for a delightful dinner together.

Meals: Welcome Dinner Accommodation: Hotel Las Casas de la Judería Day 2 - April 3, 2024 - Cordoba After breakfast, Walt will kick off the workshop with a demonstration at one of the historic monuments in downtown Cordoba. We'll take a short break in the afternoon to visit some of the iconic landmarks that make Cordoba so popular. In the evening, we'll gather for dinner in the city. Day 6 - April 7, 2024 - Malaga
Bid farewell to Cordoba as we journey further south to Malaga. Along the way, we'll make a stop at a charming village for a morning workshop, wine tasting, and lunch. Later, we'll check into our hotel in Malaga. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Accommodation: Hotel Palacete De Alamos Day 7 - April 8, 2024 - Malaga Enjoy a full day of workshops in Malaga. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Accommodation: Hotel Palacete De Alamos Day 8 - April 9, 2024 - Day trip to Granada Embark on a day trip to Granada, where Walter will guide us in two workshop sessions. We'll have dinner together upon returning to Malaga. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Accommodation: Hotel Palacete De Alamos Day 9 - April 10, 2024 - Malaga On our last workshop day, we'll have a fun-filled day together in Colmenar. We'll explore the countryside through food with a local chef, have a painting session in the mountains, and enjoy our final meal cooking and eating together. Frequently asked questions

My partner does not paint, is there something for him/her to do?
Yes, we are painting about 6-7 hours a day. Most locations are in villages or places of interest. There is ample time and things for a non-painter to do and explore. Andalusia has hiking trails, museums and are very walkable and easy to explore. How many hours a day will we be painting? Every day we will be painting a minimum of 6-8 hours. There will also be the option for sunset and night painting. We list daily in the itinerary the estimated hours for each day. We start off lighter and increase the hours as the week progresses. I am traveling alone, will I be the only one? No, on average we have about half the group that are singles. Is there a single supplement? And why? Yes, there is. It's $300 for the pre workshop or $650 for the main workshop for a private room. The reason we have a single supplement is because some hotels do not offer a single rate. So as a single person you are paying a full rate of the room instead of it being divided by two. How can I avoid paying the single supplement? We can match guests with same-sex roommates. We will connect you by email and you can see if you are compatible to share a room. Is my deposit of $400 refundable? No, we have limited space and need a commitment from each guest. Please note that the deposit of $400 per guest is NON-REFUNDABLE except in the case that the trip does not meet the minimum number of participants. Where are we staying? 5 nights in Cordoba, Hotel Las Casas de la Judería 4 nights in Malaga, Hotel Palacete De Alamos How do we pack? We have two pre-meeting at the Yellow Barn Studio before the trip to explain packing and general information. Both meetings are broadcast live for those that can't physically attend. Do I need Travel Insurance? Where can I purchase Insurance? We highly recommend Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is based on many factors and the price varies from person to person. No, This is a land package only. |

Day 1 each guest will get there own transfer to the hotel in Cordoba. A taxi is about 30E. On Day 8 we have a transfer for all guests to the Seville Airport. How much is the cost of the Transfer? Private taxi about 30E for 2 persons with bags, shared minivan 80E up to 4/5 persons with bags. We will help everyone based on all your plans before and after the workshop to get the best rates for airfare and transfers. |
